Steel Casting
Steel castings are steel parts formed by pouring molten steel into a mold through a casting process and solidifying and cooling it. Steel castings have the advantages of high strength, high hardness, high wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and are widely used in machinery, automobiles, aerospace, petrochemical and other fields.
The manufacturing process of steel castings generally includes the following steps:
1. Mold manufacturing: Make a suitable casting mold according to the shape and size of the part.
2. Preparation of molten steel: Select appropriate steel and heat it to a molten state to obtain molten molten steel.
3. Casting operation: Pour molten steel into the mold so that it fills the entire mold cavity, and then wait for the molten steel to solidify.
4. Cooling treatment: After the molten steel is completely solidified, open the mold, take out the solidified steel casting, and perform cooling treatment to eliminate internal stress and improve the organizational structure.
5. Subsequent processing: According to the requirements of the parts, follow-up processing procedures such as cutting, grinding, drilling, and threading are performed.
The quality of steel castings is affected by many factors, such as the composition of molten steel, pouring temperature, cooling rate, etc. Therefore, these parameters need to be strictly controlled during the casting process to ensure the quality and performance of steel castings.
